Licence to practise medicine - application

In Germany, you wish to practise as

  • A doctor,
  • A dentist,
  • A pharmacist,
  • A psychological psychotherapist or
  • A psychotherapist for children and teenagers

To do this, you require, on completion of the appropriate training, a licence to practise medicine or a professional licence of limited duration.

Responsible authority

Stuttgart Regional Council (Regierungspräsidium)

Prerequisite

Prerequisites for the licence are:

  • You have completed a German, or equivalent foreign, course of study or you can prove an equivalent level of knowledge.
  • To pursue your preferred occupation, you are
    • worthy
    • reliable and
    • in appropriate good health.

Procedure

You must apply in writing t. You can download the relevant application form from the Internet.

Depending on the individual case, between 200 and 400 euros
